MILTON LONG
MILTON LONG

Milton Long, the only son of Judge and Mrs. Charles Long of Springfield, Massachusetts was a first class passenger. He left this watch with his chauffeur before leaving for Europe and was coming home on Titanic. He spent the last evening on the ship with Jack Thayer of Philadelphia. Both young men stayed on board until Titanic was about to plunge to the bottom of the ocean. They both jumped, Jack was saved and Milton Long perished. His body was recovered by the MacKay-Bennett and transported by train to Springfield. His memorial is in Springfield Cemetery
